Introduction to the Spring Peeper
Welcome to the Spring Peeper Frog Resource! This website exists to provide information on the adorable amphibian that roams through Canada and the United States east of Mississippi. Known as Pseudacris Crucifer (false locust and cross) in the science community, these 5 gram carnivores are identified by a dark X-or crucifix-covering their back. Their distinctive call is used to mark the beginning of spring, and is an explanation for the title Spring Peeper. These nickle sized amphibians have the ability to all but shut down their body during the winter months. This site happily provides the need to know on the Spring Peeper! Please enjoy!
